JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:

Safety training is one of the critical ways we mitigate the safety risks to employees. Safety training ensures our workers are properly instructed and trained on how to do their work safely and managers check competency on the job. The safety training team manages approx. 200 courses which is the largest suite of courses across BC Hydro training. The safety training program team is accountable for administration, development and delivery of all the training within their portfolio.

Safety Training management model is spread across five team members; one manager and two Safety Training Leads and two IBEW Fleet Safety Trainers - this posting is for one of those Safety Training Leads. Reporting directly to the Manager, Safety Training, your key areas of focus are:

1. Training Advisors: Engage with stakeholders and the business to ensure program meets regulation requirements and business needs; answer employee/manager/instructor inquires.

2. Day to day program management: Lead course development projects, contract administration, invoice administration and tracking, budget forecasting, perform quality checks on other Safety Training Leads’ course closure activities, document management and communications. EachSafety Training Lead manages approx. 65 courses.

3. Strategic training program sustainment: Supports quality assurance of our training program. This involves, course effectiveness analysis, course delivery efficiently analysis, instructor audits, course health index update, assessing if current course offering meets need and identify course development priorities.
